Eggs Benedict was good. Everyone enjoyed there food. Busy Saturday afternoon, so it was a bit of wait for our food. The place is cute. Servers attentive. ”
“ Had Saturday brunch at 11am with friends from the bay. Everything was so delicious! We couldn't decide so we shared all the various dishes. The ube espresso latte was deliciously unique to this restaurant-same with the Thai tea and ube pancakes. The service was excellent. The unlimited mimosas for an hour-they kept the glass filled...my friends had a great buzz. ”
“ This place has amazing selection of pancakes. The food was amazing; I had the loco moco. The service was friendly and fast. The ambiance was great; make sure you get there early due to being popular ”
“ I came about a month ago. This place is new but it's a really delicious place for brunch. I'd recommend it if you want some kind of Denny's restaurant but with some Asian fusion twists. I enjoyed their ube pancakes and chicken and waffles the most. I found their salmon egg Benedict potatoes to be just okay it needed a bit more seasoning. Waiters were alright, just average service, no complaints. Inside can be a bit crowded on weekends but it was ok because we came a little early. It does fill up as the afternoon approaches. I like the decorations inside, lots of modern hipster vibes and a funny cat. ”
“ Step into a comforting brunch spot with friends surrounded by green hills and crisp morning air. This ain't your average slice of downtown Walnut Creek, which is about 2 miles away. Here, roads stretch longer and the drive might take you up a mountain for a hike. I spotted purple ube pancakes a mile away and knew the gals & I had to visit! Join the waitlist and check out the menu. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. We ended up eating outside between heating lamps. Drinks: *Thaitini: Thai tea + Soju *Iced Pink Beet Latte *Turmeric Spice Latte *Dirty Chai Latte Eats: *Cha Thai Pancakes *Ube Pancakes *Farmer Scramble *vegan *Avocado Toast *Chick Pops appetizer It's rare to see Thai tea pancakes on the menu. Both the Thai and ube pancakes weren't too sweet & were loaded with fruit! Fluffy & indulgent with a side of flavored sauce to drizzle on. Farmer Scramble was plentiful with tofu, mushrooms, bell peppers, onions, and baby kale. Choice of potatoes or mixed salad plus toast. We got ciabatta. Avocado toast had a twist of fresh strawberries and bits of fresh mozzarella cheese topped with greens. Chick Pops had crispy bites of fried chicken and cut up waffles flavored with maple syrup and an aioli dip. Everything was so colorful and waitress Nep had a genuine smile on her face during our whole meal. Excellent service! I'd definitely come back when in the area! ”
“ Sunday morning and we did not have to wait for a table. Avocado toast as usual, but changed it up with the sausage scramble with salad and English muffins. Also ordered a matcha latte and chai latte. Service was good. Warning for newbies - don't underestimate the size of some dishes . If you decide you want to taste the French toast or pancakes with your other orders, be ready to take home leftovers! ”
“ ** Review 1600! ** Visited on a Holiday (Monday, 1/20) with friend, Hazel for lunch and wait was about 15 mins...add your name and cell to the waitlist and you'll be alerted when table ready. This is the newest location for The Hangout with the original in Pleasant Hill off Morello. American breakfast with some Thai/Island fusion (the trend these days) which I appreciate considering breakfast isn't my favorite meal of the day. :: HANGOVER - spaghetti tossed with diced bell peppers, mushrooms, basil, apple sausage, bacon and topped with an over-hard egg. Simple enough dish but had lots of flavor with some chili-flake kick. 4/5 :: CHICKEN and WAFFLES - many of these Asian-fusion spots have this on their menu but not all do it well. The Hangout does a good one - lightly battered dark meat chicken, and not greasy. 4/5 Overall, 4-4.5 stars! Service simple with someone replenishing water and walking around. Place was packed by the time we left. A few tables for outdoor dining with your pup. The Hangout is worth another visit to try other items like the garlic noodles and basil chicken. Plenty of lot parking and shared with Safeway in the Rossmoor Shopping Center. Best time to visit is a weekday or early on the weekend. ”
“ Came here for bday brunch last weekend and is an absolute must visit for top notch brunch spot. This place delivers on every front. There were so many delicious dishes but these stood out the most IMO. The chicken and waffle; crispy, golden perfection, juicy, with just the right amount of syrupy sweetness and a super slight kick. It's comfort food with a twist. The Cha (Thai) Tea Pancakes are pure magic! The balance of creamy Thai tea flavor and fluffy pancake will leave your taste buds singing. They're not overly sweet, which makes them even more enjoyable. And for those who love a unique treat, the Ube Pancakes are a game-changer. The vibrant purple color is a feast for the eyes. The service is friendly and attentive, and the portions are generous. Perfect for sharing (if you're willing to). Whether you're brunching with friends or riding solo, The Hangout is a spot that will have you coming back for more. We know we will! Highly recommend. ”
“ It was my first time in this location and I was very excited as I was really blown away by their Pleasant Hill location. Parking was spacious and I had no issues, the restaurant was pretty big and had many seating options and service was fantastic. We ordered the Fried chicken and waffles, Berry lover's french toast and the chocolate banana pancakes. The chicken was juicy and flavorful and paired nicely with the waffles. The berry french toast was a bit too sweet for me but still delicious. It was a stuffed french toast, drizzled with strawberry puree and topped with berries and cornflakes. My friend really enjoyed her chocolate banana pancakes as well. They were soft, delicious and we loved the caramelized banana. The Hangout had some HEFTY portions for the price and quality of the food, the trip was well worth it! ”
“ There's nothing like bonding when your family's favorite thing to do is eating together. My sister excitedly suggest we try the hangout at their new location in Walnut Creek. Parking in the bay area can be stressful at times, but here there is a large parking lot! A friendly face is always a good start to a meal. From the first hello to the end when paying for the meal the staff have been patient and helpful. From taking a bite here and there from other plates of company and my own food, we all have come to the conclusion that the food is delicious! Might I add the portions are more than plenty. My favorite is the garlic noodle with crispy chicken. The savory garlic noodles weren't soggy at all and paired well with the crispy chicken. My husband's go to are the ube pancakes. They are balanced without being overly sweet. You can win me over with potatoes any day! They are slightly crispy and seasoned just right. I would definitely make the drive just to have brunch at the Hangout! ”
